How To Win A Golf Tournement

Author: Frederick Palmer

Planning a golf tournament? Here are some tips to help you.

1. Select a good golf course and facilities that can accommodate all the needs that you have and make sure that their staff employees are likewise accommodating. Check with the employees and ensure that you tell them what you need and what you want to happen, especially if you plan on having an awards or some sort of ceremonies after the tournament. This is also the time you should think of the number of golfers that you would allow to compete. You may want to check the staff recommendations, especially if they have a record of golf tournaments in their place.

2. It might be great if you make an information brochure explaining and advertising the tournament in a clear and concise manner, with a format that is easy and relaxing to read. Put in a concise registration form along with the brochure.

3. You should not forget about getting tournament sponsors. Order early the course signage. It might take some time in getting all the logos you need for printing. Be sure that the tournament sponsors you got have first approved the publication materials before taking them for printing. Many tournament sponsors have very strict specifications about the use of their logos and expect you to follow the guidelines that they have.

4. Consider the goodie bags or giveaways in the tournament. You could give shirts, tees, hats, balls, among others. You could also keep a supply of sunscreen packets and bottled water. If you are giving awards, you should order the trophies early.

5. You can buy a database (or design if you can do one) for the registration process in helping you track the players you have as well as the team pairings.

6. Make sure that the golf staff is recognized easily. They should be easily distinguished with a special hat or golf shirt.

7. Do a short checklist of the things you need to finish or accomplish in preparation for your tournament. Try to do everything as early as possible.

8. Inform the players of the rules and requirements of the system. Make sure that they do have the necessary equipment or tools for play, such as score cards, balls, tees, among others.

9. Make sure that there is proper and enough nourishment at the tournament. There should be enough food and drinks available in the various points around and on the course.

10. Prepare for worst-case scenarios like course problems, injuries, etc.

Now Everyone can Afford to Buy New Golf Clubs

Author: David Laible

The high price of golf clubs has kept many weekend hackers from taking advantage of the new technologies in golf equipment. TourGolfClubs has changed that with the introduction of a line of golf clubs that rivals the name brands in features and performance, but at a fraction of the price.

In the past the introductions of the golf clubs with new game improving technologies have been left to the wealthy. Most golfers can't afford to spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars to upgrade their old equipment. The technological advancement of new metals has allowed many golf club manufacturers to improve club performance by a creating a thinner club face and redistributing the weight of the golf club. The repositioning of the weight lowers the center of gravity of the golf club which provides lower spin rates and greater distance. These new designs have also allowed golf club manufacturers to increase the sweet spot of the clubs providing a more forgiving and consistent golf shot.

The top golf club manufacturers, like Ping, Taylormade, Callaway and Titliest have all recently retooled their entire line of clubs to take advantage of these new technologies. Golfers that purchased golf clubs 4 plus years ago are finding that they are at a disadvantage compared to many golfers using these newer golf clubs.

TourGolfClubs.com has provided hope to many of these golfers by offering an inexpensive line of golf clubs that uses these new technologies. Most golf clubs offered by TourGolfClubs are more the seventy five percent less expensive then the comparable name brand club. Every product TourGolfClubs makes feature the game improvement technologies and design concepts which will make you a better golfer - cavity back irons, perimeter weighting, low center of gravity. The only difference many of you will see in their golf clubs and the name brand ones are the price.

Simple Golf Tip To Help You Become A Better Putter

Author: Stan Thomas

This putting tip was recommended to me not to long ago, and I wanted to pass it along. It should help you develop a sense of 'feel' with your putts.

Find a level practice green. Line up several golf balls about twenty feet or so from the fringe of the green.

Line up over the first ball and take your regular putting stroke, putting toward the fringe. Do not look up at your shot immediately after impact. Instead keep your head down and guess where the putt will stop. Will it be long? Short? Perfect?

After you've made your guess based on what you 'feel', look up and watch exactly where the golf ball comes to a stop compared to your estimate. Putt through all your practice balls in the same manner.

This exercise separates your sense of sight from your sense of touch. Therefore, you can understand why it's important to make your guess of where the ball will land before you look up and get the feedback of your sight.

After making your guess look up and follow the path of your putt, watching it come to a complete stop. This will give your brain added feedback and accelerate the process of developing the proper 'feel' to putting. See how quickly your guesses become accurate and all your putts begin finishing in the same position, close to the fringe of the green.

A additional benefit to this simple drill is that will teach you to keep your head down and still while putting. As fundamental as it sounds, keeping a still head is imperative to mastering your putting stroke.

I also like this drill because you aren't putting to a specific target - a golf hole. Instead, you're putting to a general area. This is a great muscle memory technique that will allow your putting stroke to become a lot smoother and more consistent. Shooting to an area rather than a target should allow you to learn to putt from a more relaxed position, ridding tension from your putts. Tension is, of course, the death nil to any putt.

Once you've experimented with this exercise on a flat surface, try it on others as well: downhill, uphill, and undulating. It shouldn't take you long to develop a feel for whatever putting situation that presents itself on the golf course.

How to maintain your golf cart's batteries

Author: Ken MacKenzie

Serious, even dangerous threats can eventuate by improperly maintaining your golf cart's batteries. A lack of knowledge about basic golf cart battery maintenance can lead to all kinds of problems. Some users assume that the batteries that operate their golf carts are maintenance-free.

However, the key to achieving optimum performance and long life is a solid golf cart battery maintenance program. It is recommended that you obtain the following equipment for use in a Golf Cart Battery Maintenance Program

A wrench; distilled water; a voltmeter (an instrument used for measuring the voltage between two points in an electric circuit); a hydrometer (a tool used to measure the specific gravity of the electrolyte solution); a post cleaner; some baking soda; petroleum jelly and possibly the most of all - goggles and gloves.Always wear protective clothing, acid proof gloves and goggles when handling lead acid batteries and remove all jewellery. It's important to have lots of water and baking soda nearby as this will neutralise any acid spills from battery refilling and prevent further corrosive damage. Remember, the electrolyte is a solution of acid and water, so skin contact should be avoided and, do not smoke near batteries and never add acid to a battery.

Golf carts are typically powered by six lead-acid batteries mounted beneath the front seat.

First of all, examine the outside appearance of the batteries. You should look for cracks in the container and the top of the battery. Posts and connections should be free of dirt, fluids and corrosion. You should replace any damaged batteries. Check that all vent caps are tight. Then clean the battery top with a cloth or brush and a solution of baking soda and water ensuring that any cleaning solution or any other foreign matter does not get inside the battery. Then rinse with clean water and dry with a clean cloth. Solvents or spray cleaners should not be used. Then clean the battery terminals and the inside of the cable clamps with a post and clamp cleaner. Reconnect the clamps to the terminals and thinly coat them with petroleum jelly. Always keep the area around the batteries clean and dry.Water should only be added after fully

charging the golf cart battery Prior to charging, there should be enough water to cover the plates.

If the battery has been discharged (partially or fully), the water level should be above the plates. Some important things to remember are: Do not allow plates to be exposed to air and do not fill the water all the way up to the cap. Do not use water with a high mineral content. You should use only distilled or deionised water. Check water levels in each cell of each battery weekly to ensure that the leaded plates in the battery are submerged in liquid. Don't fill the cell all the way up -- add just enough water to cover the plates.

Lastly, please follow the manufacturer's instructions for maintaining your golf cart's batteries

A Whiter Shade Of Playing Bad Golf | When The Golf Swing No Longer Matters

Author: Stan Thomas

Don't let a bad start to a round of golf define your whole day on the course.

Too often when we get off to a rocky start the rest of our round is shot. We become our own worst enemy and create a doomful sense of self-fulfilling prophecy.

But does one hole define another? If one hole didn't go as planned, does that necessarily mean more will follow?

Chances are there will a domino effect, and the whole round will come cascading down. But, does it have to be that way?

Have you struggled through a round, determined to get control of all that's gone bad, and then suddenly at some point said, ""Ah, to hell with it. I'm just going to shoot my shots and have some fun.""

If you're like me, letting go of this attempted form of control can have a liberating effect on your round of golf. Not only are you enjoying yourself more, but you play better golf as well. Odd, isn't it? But it happens.

We are so result driven that we often forget to learn. We have in our minds the perfect golf swing and an idea of the perfect result it should achieve. When that doesn't happen the negative inner dialogue begins. With that comes a lot of trouble.

Personally speaking, I used to one of those golfers that was score and result driven. That was my priority while playing golf. And, I was miserable playing, but I was also determined I was going to better. I was going to achieve that place in my mind of being a 'good' golfer. That's how I was defining my time on the course.

Once after a particularly rotten day on the course I came home cursing and throwing my equipment into the garage.

My son was almost four years old at the time was playing in the yard and rushed to see what all the commotion was about.

""Are you mad, Daddy?"" he asked.

""Yeah, I played golf today, and I didn't do very well.""

He looked at me quizzically.

""Did you have fun?""

I laughed.

""Nope. Not today, I sure didn't.""

More quizzical looks came my way.

""Daddy, if you don't fun, why do you play?""

That simple question from a four-year-old boy stuck with me a long time.

Why was I playing? I had reached a plateau, and I wasn't getting any better. Playing golf and become a practice in frustration.

It was then I made a commitment to attempt to enjoy my time on the course more or to quit and do something else with my time.

If you find yourself in a similar situation, I'd strongly recommend you do the same. Stop worrying so much about your score or the result you want. Make it your goal to enjoy your time on the course more, to learn no matter what transpires.

You just might be surprised at all that begins to unfold, both on the golf course and inside of you.---

Callaway FTI - Probably the Best Golf Driver in the World

Author: alan payne

The Callaway FTI can be used to a great advantage if you finally want to beat your golfing partners out on the fairway.

So What makes the Callaway FTI so special?

Firstly the Callaway FTI is made from a carbon composite which is extremely light weight but also extremely strong. This weight advantage has been used in production and testing to overall enhance the Callaway FTI's performance.

The Callaway FTI has been proven to hit balls further than any other driver on the market today which makes this driver your new best friend.

Callaway FTI includes a titanium cup face which helps the user increase golf ball speed from contact shots from the face of head.

To no surprise the Callaway FTI has been banned in use by professional golfers throughout the world at various golfing tournaments as using this driver gives the pro an unfair advantage against their competition.

Callaway featured heavily in the PGA tours in 1995 and Callaway golf drivers were No.1 in the tournament. This shot Callaway to become the largest manufacturer of golf clubs outselling its nearest rivals with 2003 became number one in the golf club market.

The Callaway FTI is a massive leap in golf club technology and redesign favoring any golfer. With the Callaway FTI promotions launched, record levels of pre orders were placed before the official launch date.

The Callaway FTI has been redesigned using a different shaped, square driver head which proven in testing to be a breakthrough in golf club performance. This Callaway FTI is weighted differently from all other clubs which distributes the weight to the outside edges of the head which helps prevent the club head to twist during shots. Any golfer will know that this is extremely important to prevent this if possible so the ball can be hit cleanly and on target.

As a golfing enthusiast, I decided to make a new website designed purely around the amazing Callaway FTI driver, if you would like to read more about the Callaway FTI, please visit the site today by clicking on this link below!

Can Simple Breathing Improve Your Golf Swing?

Author: Stan Thomas

This may sound like the most basic golf tip of all, but when you want to improve your golf swing, don't forget to breathe.

Don't run off. I'll explain.

Think of the last time you were in trouble on the golf course. Remember what it was like. This most likely is going to cause tension in your body. And, with that tension your breathing is going to be restricted.

Take a few quick deep breaths right now. Come on. Just do it, for crying out loud.

Now think back to that tension-filled moment on the golf course I asked you to remember above. Does it feel different? When I do this simple exercise, it does. Simply because tension and breathing properly are not compatible partners.

Let's take the exercise a step further. Stand up in your golfing stance; legs spread shoulder width a part. Breathe in through your nose, evenly and fully. Breathe the air all the way in and down, fully expanding your lungs until you comfortably can't handle anymore. Hold it there momentarily and easily. Now, exhale, gently blowing the air out through the mouth.

You should feel your upper torso expand and relax; your arms should hang down now a bit more freely than before. You think this might be good for your golf swing?

I strongly recommend making deep breathing a part of your routine before every golf shot you attempt. This is should be the starting point for any action you have on the golf course.

Do this before every golf swing you attempt:

1) Position yourself behind the golf ball a comfortable distance; ten feet should suffice.

2) See your target line clearly and see, in the mind, your golf shot perfectly executed.

3) Comfortably take a full and deep breath, having the air gently fill your lungs. Hold it for a moment and then gently blow it out through the mouth. I find pursing my lips on the exhale helps with a full exhalation.

4) When this simple routine is accomplished, you are then ready to approach your golf ball. Do this and notice how relaxed you are as you stand over your shot.

In essence you're playing a little trick on the unconscious mind. Whereas the body and mind was once filled with tension and the breathing was restricted, now the breathing is full and the new message to all points of your being is ""no more trouble here"".

I can't stress how much I recommend this simple exercise. Put it in your golf bag and use it like you would any other golfing tool. You won't be disappointed.

At first I applied this technique when faced with any situation that I felt was stressful while playing golf. Later I began using it before every golf swing I was attempting. Now, it has spilled over, and I use in my daily routine away from golf. I hope you'll try it as well.---
